Refund policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). Items sold by the yard are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
• If you purchase a trim from us and then change your mind for whatever reason, we will accept the return but please be aware that we do not refund your ship charges either way. YOU MUST CONTACT US TO OBTAIN A RETURN AUTHORIZATION (RA) NUMBER PRIOR TO SHIPPING ANYTHING BACK TO US. ITEMS RETURNED TO US WITHOUT AN RA NUMBER ARE SUBJECT TO A 25% RESTOCKING FEE. Please use the Email contact form on the website to request an RA number.
For items that are returned damaged, not in original condition, or wrinkled we will refund only 50% of the item's price. We do not refund shipping charges on any orders returned to us unopened and/or marked return to sender.
Trims can be returned for a refund less shipping charges within 30 days of date of order. Returns received after 30 days from the date of purchase will be refunded as a store credit only. We reserve the right in situations where we do agree to refund shipping costs to refund those charges as a store credit.
• No returns accepted on sale items discounted 50% or more.
• Returned trims must be in new, original, uncut condition and kept in a smoke free environment. Trims not in original condition when returned will be refunded at 50% of the purchase price.
• A refund will be issued after the trim is received and inspected. Refunds may take up to 7 days to process.
• Special Order Trims- There is a restocking fee of 50% on all returned or cancelled special order trims. You must contact us prior to returning a special order item. Special order trims are any trims we specifically order at your request from our manufacturers, including special dye lots.
• Items sold by the yard are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
All trim measurements are approximate and include any header a trim might have; we list using the measurements provided by the manufacturer which can vary from those of the actual product. Consequently, we cannot be responsible for colors or dimensions that do not match your intended use exactly. If you must have a particular color, length or width, email us for help using the email form on the homepage. Be aware that the color of any trim or product on this website compared to the actual product may vary due to differences in computer monitor calibrations, software, and differences in manufacturer's dye lots.
Trims are shipped in one continuous length except when there is an unavoidable manufacturer's join. Please note we cannot cut around joins as these are a normal part of the manufacturing process. We do, however, compensate by including an appropriate amount of extra trim. We cannot custom cut your yardage into multiple pieces for you due to time constraints.
If a ribbon, trim or other product is defective, please email us at Dove Originals Trims with details within 5 days of receipt of the product. We will provide instructions for returning the item. When the item is returned and checked, we will provide either a replacement or a refund as appropriate. Return ship charges will be reimbursed as a store credit. Please note: Due to the nature of certain high intensity shades of bulk binding products, it is advisable that you test these colors before using. The value of binding is so insignificant compared to the value of the final product that we cannot be responsible for any damage to the product.
We are always happy to work with you to locate a particular trim or to match a color if possible. If you need an exact color match to a trim you already have or are looking to match a trim to a particular fabric, you can send us a sample and we will assist as much as we can. For your convenience, Dove Originals Trims accepts all major credit cards (VISA, Master Card, American Express, Discover Card) and Paypal. We also accept USPS money orders and personal checks, but please be aware that purchases paid by personal check or e-check will be held until the check clears (4-5 days).
